Why do other clinics advertise that they are using laser but actually use IPL?

Lasers are regulated in Australia and around the world – Intense Pulse light isnt – Recently there has been an influx of very cheap IPL units that tests have shown provide serious health risks to both the client and the operator. They are cheap because inferior quality parts are installed and safety standards are below par due to minimal testing.

Laser uses a monochromatic light at a frequency which specifically targets the hair follicle. IPL uses non-monochromatic light meaning it is less specific and is absorbed by the surrounding skin. This is why we use IPL for skin photo-rejuvenation, not Hair removal.

Laser Hair Removal is not a service you want to take the cheaper option with. If the hair follicles are damaged but not destroyed then you may be left with a worse condition than you had before you started.
